As a highly experienced team our reputation for supporting families when they employ nannies is second to none. 

Liaise with HMRC on their behalf

Assess their nanny for workplace pension auto enrolment

We will be their representative with HMRC in everything related to their nanny. We will: 


  • Register them as an employer 
  • Report returns to HMRC on a monthly basis Receive tax code changes and implement them in a timely manner 
  • Send the nanny’s P60 each year and produce P45s when necessary 
  • Managing any statutory payment calculations including SMP, SSP etc

By law, all eligible employees must be enrolled into a workplace pension, unless they choose to opt out. 


Feather's outsourced payroll solution will assess the eligibility of your client’s nanny and enrol them into the Government’s NEST pension scheme. 


Pension payments will be indicated on their payslip.

Calculate statutory payments

Should their nanny require it, your clients are required to make the following statutory payments through their payroll: 

   

  • Sick pay 
  • Maternity pay 
  • Paternity pay 
  • Parental bereavement pay 
  • Adoption pay 


Whilst your client makes these payments to their nanny, some can be reclaimed from HMRC. 


Amounts for each vary and our outsourced payroll team will ensure your client and their nanny receive the correct amount depending on their unique situation.

We make sure it takes into account any changes in tax code or statutory payments.

We work with the most up to date technology to deliver payslips to your client and their nanny.  


The nanny will receive their payslip and your client will get an employer copy to indicate how much they need to pay their employee and their HMRC liabilities.  

File their returns with HMRC

HMRC require RTI (Real Time Information) reporting whenever your client runs payroll for their nanny. 


Our IT systems automatically files their returns and keep their HMRC account up to date and accurate. 


We also deal with HMRC on any queries that result from reporting

As part of our outsourced payroll service, on an annual basis, we will provide your clients and their nanny with a P60 which gives an overview of their PAYE for the financial year.


 In the event that their nanny leaves we will create a P45 for them to pass to their new employer.
